More than 3000 Iranian tourists expected to visit Armenia in Nowruz
Head of “Tatev” tourism company Arlen Davidyan told “Armenpress” that year by year the number of Iranian tourists visiting Armenia in those days is increasing. “They mainly spend 4-5 days in Armenia. They arrive with their families to celebrate their holidays. Their most favorite places in Armenia are Garni, Geghard, Sevan, Tsakhkadzor and Etchmiadzin”, he said.
Earlier Sergey Avetisyan - Head of the General Department of Civil Aviation, told “Armenpress” that this year a major passenger flow is expected during the Iranian New Year. “We have already received a number of applications from various airlines, and I think that we will carry out more than 50 flights within those three weeks, by reaching the frequency of daily flights to 6-7”, he said.
Armenia’s State Tourism Committee has already discussed the content of Persian journal to be published in March and the provision of journals to Iranian tourists in Armenia’s border checkpoints.
Iranians celebrate New Year on March 21 which lasts 13 days.
