Armenia, Iran to define cooperation roadmap: PM Pashinyan receives Iranian FM

rime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan today received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amir Abdollahian and the delegation led by him, ARMENPRESS was informed from the Office of the Prime Minister, ARMENPRESS reports.

Welcoming the Foreign Minister of Iran, Nikol Pashinyan noted.

"Dear Mr. Minister,

Dear colleagues,

I welcome you all in the Republic of Armenia.

First of all, I want to congratulate both you and us on the occasion of the opening of the Consulate General of Iran in Kapan, and I am also happy that the opening of the consulate was carried out under such conditions. I think that this step expresses the mutual intentions of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Armenia in terms of developing relations.

Of course, our agenda of bilateral relations is very full, but I also think that we should place that agenda in the logic of longer-term planning. It is clear that now we are very focused and unfortunately, we have to focus on solving daily operational problems, but on the other hand, I am sure that our attitude towards these problems will be more practical if we have a long term view on everything. I am glad that our dialogue with President Raisi seems to be taking on this kind of logic more and more. I welcome you once again."

The Foreign Minister of Iran said:

"For God's sake, thank you very much. You pointed out very important issues. The meeting between you and Mr. Raisi in New York contained many important issues as well as agreements. Let me convey to you the warm greetings of the President of my country. Mr. Raisi asked me to convey to you and underline once again his invitation to visit Tehran.

Honorable Mr. Pashinyan,

We value relations with our neighboring states, especially with the Republic of Armenia. Today, my colleagues and I visited Armenia to define our long-term road map for both countries with Mr. Ararat Mirzoyan”.

The interlocutors discussed issues related to the agenda of bilateral relations, referred to economic cooperation. Both sides emphasized the full realization of the existing potential in the field of trade.

The sides exchanged views on regional developments and the security environment. The Prime Minister emphasized the clear assessments of the Iranian side and the close bilateral cooperation in the created situation.

Nikol Pashinyan asked to convey his warm greetings and best wishes to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi.
