Pashinyan congratulates new UK PM on assuming office

Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan sent a congratulatory letter to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak on assuming office, Pashinyan’s Office said, ARMENPRESS reports.

The letter reads:

“Your Excellency,

I address to you my warmest greetings and best wishes on the occasion of assuming the positions of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the leader of the Conservative Party.

You are assuming the position of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in conditions of complex geopolitical processes and socio-economic and political problems facing your country, when political leaders are required to use maximum prudence to overcome the current challenges. I am confident that you will lead the United Kingdom on the path of development and prosperity.

This year the Republic of Armenia and the United Kingdom are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations which is a good occasion to reveal the unutilized potential and outline new directions of cooperation between our countries.

Armenia attaches great importance to the further development and deepening of the partnership with the United Kingdom based on common value system and practical interests.

Despite the serious security challenges Armenia continues unsteadily fulfilling the democratic reforms, and in this context we highly value the support of the UK government. I hope under your government the Armenian-British relations will get a new impetus and quality for the benefit of the prosperity of our countries and welfare of our friendly peoples.

Wishing new achievements and success to your responsible mission, please, Your Excellency, accept the assurances of my highest respect”.
