Moscow quartet meeting: Syria territorial integrity should be respected

Foreign ministers of Iran, Syria, Turkiye and Russia on Wednesday issued a joint statement at the end of their quartet meeting in Moscow, stressing the importance of respecting Syria’s territorial integrity and boosting international aid to the war-torn country, IRNA reports.

The statement also voiced support for fighting all forms of terrorism as well as separatism and extremism in Syria. In addition, it rejected any interference in Syria’s internal affairs and emphasized the importance of the governance of the Syrian Arab Republic over all parts of the country.
The joint statement also stressed the need for boosting international assistance to Syria with the aim of facilitating the post-war reconstruction efforts as well as the voluntary return of all Syrian refugees to their homeland.
The parties to the statement announced their readiness to help remove obstacles in order for all those goals to materialize.

They agreed that deputy foreign ministers of the four countries, in coordination with the countries’ defense ministers and intelligence chiefs, prepare a roadmap for progressing relations between Syria and Turkiye.
