US Ambassador addressed issue of repatriation of prisoners of war in Gyumri
Shirak Province governor Mushegh Muradyan on Monday received a delegation led by US Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien, who is in Gyumri on a familiarization visit, 1lurer reports.
Welcoming the guests, the governor of Shirak noted that he is happy to host the ambassador and will represent Shirak with special responsibility, as the ambassador is there for the first time.
Ambassador Kvien, for her part, thanked the governor for his warm welcome. She said that it is an honor for her to be in Shirak Province, to be hosted by the governor, and talk about matters of mutual interest. Also, the American diplomat expressed confidence that if there is a mutual willingness, then new prospects for cooperation will be planned.
During the meeting, the interlocutors reflected on the matter of having the captives from Shirak Province returned from Azerbaijan, and a number of programs being implemented in the province; particularly, the changes in the IT sector as well as initiatives aimed at the development of the economy.
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged souvenirs.
