Video - Situation in Nagorno-Karabakh is very difficult, we realize it, but you are not alone: Chairman of Hauts-de-France Regional Council of France

We are here to deliver two messages. The first message is addressed to the opinion of the international community. Xavier Bertrand, Chairman of the Hauts-de-France Regional Council of France, stated at the press conference organized in Syunik province, 1lurer reports.

He emphasized that many people do not know that Azerbaijan does not allow the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh to live freely, they also do not know that children in Nagorno-Karabakh cannot eat normally, residents are deprived of access to gas, electricity, and water.
“Those people are deprived of all this because of Azerbaijan. That's why we all joined and organized this humanitarian convoy, I emphasize humanitarian, to allow international law to fully function again, people, women, children can simply live in dignity. And it was forbidden to us. And this is exactly what we want to announce and condemn,” he said.
Xavier Bertrand also called for this initiative to be repeated by others to wake up the international community.
“Naturally, there are other problems in Europe, and naturally we all support Ukraine as well, but a tragedy is also happening here in Armenia, and we are all on the side of Armenia and Karabakh.
Azerbaijan wants to turn Nagorno-Karabakh into a prison and drive its inhabitants to a prison or even a cell, a cage. We don't want it to become a cage, and we want its inhabitants to live freely in it. This is the message we want to send,” said Xavier Bertrand and raised the question: what should be done for the international community to wake up, should we wait until there are victims for the international community to wake up?
Bertrand also expressed hope that the tragedy could be avoided, and at the same time emphasized that the international community should also remember what happened in the previous century.
The Chairman of Hauts-de-France Regional Council of France also sent a second message to the population of Nagorno-Karabakh. “We want to tell our friends in Armenia, also those friends who are in Nagorno-Karabakh today, that the situation is very difficult, we realize it, but you are not alone, we are by your side. And we came here today to show it,” said Xavier Bertrand, then reaffirmed: “We came as friends, you are not alone.”
